Program Commissions and Chairs Church Commission - Marlene Howell The aim of the Church Commission is to establish a community of God’s people through a program of contemplation, worship, and involvement. Family Concerns Commission - Winifred DeLoache The aim of the Family Concerns commission is to assist in achieving a truly Christian life and to preserve Christian principles in those areas that pertain to the welfare of all families. Programs focus on child and parent education, family religion, and preservation of family unity. Community Concerns Commission - Sheila Travillion The aim of the Community Concerns Commission is to involve ACCW members – and all people – in working to answer the needs of their individual communities. Its program is focused on action and involves areas as safety, the environment, health, aging, and economic policies – any and all areas that affect the life and well being of the community. International Concerns Commission - Barbara Tasker The aim of the International Concerns Commission is to increase understanding of the meaning of sisterhood and brotherhood of all people, and our responsibilities to international society by sharing out Faith, Hope, and Love of the Lord, along with our love of each other. Organization Commission - Marilyn McGuire The Organization Commission is essentially a service bureau that works in conjunction with programs of four other commissions by providing techniques, suggestions, materials, and publicity. It works to contribute to the successful organization and direction of the Council and its substantive programs. Legislation Commission - Norma Bradley In this Commission, women are educated to be politically effective and responsible in current State and National issues relative to all the Commissions. |
